I hope to continue LIVE workshops in the future! In the interim, I created my own online art school with several Online Courses in Color and Design, as well as in Acrylic/Mixed Media, Cold Wax and Oils and Encaustic. MY NEW STUDIO

*On July 31, 2016, our home and my four studios burned to the ground. We had 45 minutes to leave our home and although we thought we might return, by the time we were allowed back after four days of continuous burning, there was literally nothing but ashes left.

CURRENT STUDIO: I now work from my 1000 sq ft studio located at our home. It has ventilation, daylight corrected fluorescent lighting, large wooden walls to hang cradled panels or large sheets of paper, and GFCI (Ground Force Circuit Interruptor) outlets to prevent overloading electrical circuits while painting with encaustic or encaustic monotype. My studio is also equipped with a Roland Pro Box (32x44in) for encaustic monotypes.

Our home has a nice back deck overlooking the Bitterroot Mountains with comfortable seating for having our meals - or we can dine in town!

AIRPORT

The nearest airport to my studio is the Missoula, Montana airport. My home and studio are located at 381 Sky West Lane in Hamilton, MT.

TESTIMONIALS

The time I spent with Pam was a gift from above. I felt such a good connection with an an amazing artist. She has mastered the art of communication – and is not afraid to share; she wants to help artists open their creativity.

This experience was a warm welcome into my life- she opened her studio – shared her materials, knowledge, guidance and I experienced such joy – two artists together. She helped to open my heart to offer my creativity to people and now people want to buy my art but I tell them “not for sale-yet!” She has opened a path for me; her teaching is limitless and opens more possibilities."

“What seems impossible is just the beginning of endless possibilities. Maria Trujillo, Sand Point, ID

I just finished a fabulous class with Pam Caughey, an 'Oil and Wax Workshop - Dynamic Color and Powerful Design'. I have never had an instructor that was more prepared for a class or that went into detail about making your work better through the fundamental elements of design and value. This is invaluable information that applies to any medium and something I have never been exposed to with any of my other instructors. This is information that I can now apply to any art making I do. Pam was also very generous in offering constructive advice and encouragement. I would love to take another class from Pam. She has a wealth of information to share. Deborah Campbell, Newcastle, WA

I took Pam Caughey's workshop, "Powerful Design and Personal Color," in June, 2016 with a small group of artists at Shake Rag Alley in Mineral Point, WI. Although I've had success over the years as a self-taught artist, I wanted to strengthen design elements and value clarity in my work. Pam's workshop was transformational! Her superb presentations, clear demonstrations and one-on-one guidance allowed each of us--regardless of prior art education and exhibit history---to really see what was missing in our paintings. Pam identified key questions related to design elements for us to ask ourselves as we moved through different stages of our work. She generously shared tips and insights from her own journey as an artist, and her teaching style created a supportive environment for risk-taking. I experienced so much creative growth over the course of four days! I do not doubt that her lessons will serve me well far into the future. I highly recommend this gifted teacher's classes to any artist. ---Cynthia J. Lee, La Grange Park, IL

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the best class I have ever taken!! You are an exceptional communicator and teacher with the rare ability to teach to everyone with varying degrees of ability. I got so much from your class. I am working on a commission for a gallery here in town. I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed doing this because of your class. What don't I have? What don't I have?? rung through my head. Masking, percentages of values, getting myself unstuck using your techniques all combined made this piece happen. And I wanted to thank you for that! I enjoyed it. It wasn't like giving birth!! (well sort of - but in a good way. Lol) I have a new level of confidence which I am feeling in my work and I know will shine through. Please know that your skill and king words have touched my heart and work. ---Sue Jachimiec, Richmond, VA

Pam's oil & wax workshop was transforming in so many ways! Her class is a perfect mix of demonstrations, hands-on painting and constructive, valuable critique. She is clear and straight forward (and fun!) in her teachings about design, color and techniques. Pam also has an exceptional ability to create a joyful and exploratory learning environment, pushing each student in new ways of thinking and looking at imagery. An amazing four days of learning that will greatly impact my paintings for the rest of my life! --Lauren Thuli, Dodgeville, WI

Pam is an inspiring workshop leader, combining her skills as artist, teacher, observer, critic and cheerleader to help others take their art to a new level. She's insightful and analytical while also creative and passionate. Throughout, Pam shares new ideas, techniques and approaches and then allows participants to experiment and explore. I left my first workshop inspired and enthused about my art and the possibilities that await.
